The decision to make a change with her career was rekindled when she entered the 2021 Ms. Texas Senior America pageant as a contestant. The 63-year-old grabbed the spotlight when she participated in Ms. Texas Senior America Pageant in 2021 and emphasized the importance of aging gracefully as well as mental wellbeing. Janet stated, "The pre-pageant preparation provided many opportunities to improve self-care and to utilize the specialties that the cosmetic and non-invasive aesthetic procedures provided. I enjoyed the experiences and was a recipient of the successful end results, which inspired me to semi-retire and consider a career change. I loved the way I felt and had the heart-felt desire to be part of this journey that could make positive changes with people's lives and assist those who consciously desire to improve themselves in all aspects of their lives."

Janet made the decision to receive hands-on formal training from Texas Laser and Aesthetics Training Academy-Austin, Texas in December 2021. Janet earned her certification upon completion of the comprehensive program in Theory and Practice of Body Contouring-Ultrasonic Cavitation, an FDA-approved non-invasive procedure.
