DownTown Mystic Set To Fly

    NEW YORK, NY, April 28, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sha-La Music Inc. announces the release of the new single Fly by US Roots Rocker DownTown Mystic on May 6. The single will be digitally released at Radio on May 9 via iPluggers and distributed worldwide via The Orchard/Sony Music. Pre-orders are now available on Amazon and Apple Music.

Fly is the 1st single to be released at Radio by DownTown Mystic since June 2021. It's also the 1st song to be released from the current recording sessions that started in January of this year with long time compatriots Steve Holley (Paul McCartney, Elton John) on drums and urban legend Paul Page (Ian Hunter, Dion) on bass. The recordings are taking place at the famed Shorefire Studios where DownTown Mystic recorded On E Street with Max Weinberg and Garry Tallent from the E Street Band.

Fly is being released on the heels of the critically acclaimed album, 21st Century Rock 'n Roll, and has a different feel from most of the artist's previous releases. The single has a kind of chill retro vibe that sounds like a response to a world that's been in turmoil and a state of flux. DownTown Mystic writer/producer Robert Allen comments, "Fly was written as a reaction to the emotional toll of living through a worldwide pandemic that is still with us. Now add to that the death and destruction in Ukraine and tell me, who wouldn't want to fly away from it all?"

Fly, and the sessions that spawned it, also represent a new era of recording for DownTown Mystic after the loss of long-time engineer Ben Elliott and his Showplace Studios. Robert observes, "I knew it was the end of an era, but where to go next was my dilemma. Luckily, I moved into a new house and realized I was only a half hour away from Shorefire. Working there with (engineer & owner) Joe DeMaio has really been a great experience and the sound he gets from his Helios console is amazing."

Fly is the starting point of new music and releases from DownTown Mystic. Robert adds, "I'm feeling very positive and excited about the new recordings and looking forward to putting them out in the world." Stay tuned for the next chapter of DownTown Mystic. In the meantime, just let go and Fly.
