to honor the American West as a living, evolving concept
AUSTIN, TX, July 31, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- New media artist, Elena Lipkowski, joins a lively group of carefully curated artists for the first annual New Frontiers Juried Art Show and Sale. Her work "Dallas Dawn" is a digitally collaged moment in time, depicting an approaching spring thunderstorm on the prairie at dawn. Like the rest of her work, this art explores concepts of place and memory, lays bare the tensions between the minute and the monumental, and bears witness to the joy of the present moment.
While this is the Show's first year, it joins Cheyenne's long celebratory history of western events dating back to 1897. The current summertime celebration features one of the world's largest and most authentic rodeos. Over the years Cheyenne has added other western themed events including parades, carnival, musical entertainment, and chuck-wagon cook-off.
This Show is hosted by the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum founded in 1978. The museum's mission is to honor the American West as a living, evolving concept and demonstrate that everyone plays a role in our Western heritage. This art event will happen just in time for the holiday season.
