POLK, FL, October 15, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- After a unanimous jury decision, Alexis F. Franco was found not guilty of battery in the case State v. Alexis F. Franco, Case No. 2021MM004290A000WH. In total, prosecutors criminally charged four employees at Franco's dealership after a fight broke out.
As the business owner, Franco was accused of participating in the melee and injuring a patron and his son. Franco faced a battery charge that carried a potential sentence of one year in jail.
The case went to trial after the prosecution's offer to resolve the case required jail time and probation. Having heard testimony from four witnesses and deliberating for 30 minutes, the jury unanimously found Franco not guilty.
"We are glad that our client's legal rights were upheld and the verdict came back so quickly," said Umansky Law Firm Criminal Defense & Injury Attorneys attorney Brice Aikens, who led the case for Franco. "He gets to go back to his business and family without any wrongdoing on his record."
