Salon and Spa Galleria leases upscale salon suites to more than 500 beauty professionals, enabling each individual to participate in his or her own American Dream.
FORT WORTH, TX, November 11, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Congratulations go out to Ron Sturgeon for being named a finalist in the real estate category for the 2022 Entrepreneur of Excellence (EOE) competition sponsored by Fort Worth, Inc. Magazine. Each year, the magazine reviews EOE nominations and selects the best based on a broad set of criteria.
Ron Sturgeon, a lifelong entrepreneur, is particularly proud of the success of his fast-growing chain of Salon and Spa Galleria locations in the Fort Worth area. Salon and Spa Galleria leases upscale salon suites to more than 500 beauty professionals, enabling each individual to participate in his or her own American Dream. All tenants receive their own web page in an online salon directory and a dedicated press release about their new business. They also receive a 26-step salon business marketing plan and monthly business building workshops.
Sturgeon comments, "We have 2 locations in Haltom City, where we remodeled older buildings about 7 years ago. We would have more in Haltom City if the demographics were higher here and actually studied the old CVS Drug Store, recently vacated by the chain. We decided that it just didn't make good financial sense to bring our model to the declining corridor of Denton Highway, and we've had no shortage of choices in other cities as businesses, especially restaurants, have closed due to Covid. We recently purchased the Denny's at 820 and Glenview, and the Drunken Crab, next to Ernie's, in North Richland Hills. That Bedford Euless location has opened and is almost full. The Denny's location will open in the first quarter of 2023."
Over the past few years, the Salon and Spa Galleria chain has grown to twenty-one locations throughout Tarrant County. The 79% increase in leases between 2000 and 2021 clearly illustrate that Sturgeon's vision is filling a need in the Fort Worth area.
Sturgeon achieved his own American Dream as a business owner, real estate developer, small business consultant, professional speaker, and author. He is an advocate for small business owners who says, "Their struggle is real," and who recently authored Keeping the Lights on Downtown in America's Small Cities, a book about the "critical role small businesses play in bringing back jobs and prosperity" to inner cities.
He is currently spearheading a new push to "Make Haltom City Thrive Again" as he wants to make his legacy seeing the city become the most small business friendly city in Tarrant County. "The city has so much potential, but it's lost its way and identity, and as a result has lots of empty boarded up buildings in the central and southern parts of the city," he says.
Sturgeon says, "With new leadership, I believe the city can almost immediately create a new identity and bring businesses back, bringing previously enjoyed prosperity to its central city residents." He adds a huge extra benefit is to create a much broader business tax base, with sales taxes and ad valorem taxes, so residents can enjoy a lower overall tax rate.
All EOE finalists were honored at the Fort Worth, Inc. Magazine's annual gala in November. Sturgeon says, "I am honored to be chosen as a finalist, and always humbled by the thought of all the families of employees who count on me to make wise business decisions while giving back to the community."
