NEW YORK, NY, May 27, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Florence Diana Hunt, a former university professor and mental health professional, has released her debut novel, "Under The Pale Yellow Street Lamp." The book is the first in a trilogy and promises to be a gripping and gritty addition to the Sherlock Holmes universe.
Hunt's trilogy, takes a fresh approach to the beloved characters of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, placing them in a world where sex trafficking, drugs, child kidnapping and selling, and political secrets are rife. The book is set to be a thrilling ride for fans of the original works and newcomers alike.
However, the book also comes with a trigger warning. Hunt details an attempt at sex trafficking women, and while there are no complete sex scenes, rape and rough and brutal sex acts are alluded to and described in a way that may trigger some readers. Despite this, Hunt's book is an important contribution to the discussion of these topics.
Speaking about her journey to writing, Hunt said, "I've always been creative. Art history came easier to me than world history. Taking maths notes looked more like drawings and poetry than equations and theorems. But I managed a couple of doctorates and a few certifications. I taught at a university in the states and in London. Then I changed careers after retiring from university life and worked in mental health as a mobile crisis peer support specialist. One day I woke up and knew I had to write full time, and that's how I came to write this book."
"Under The Pale Yellow Street Lamp" promises to be a thrilling addition to the Sherlock Holmes universe, and we can't wait to see what Florence Diana Hunt has in store for us in the rest of the trilogy.
