US SIF, CFFP release updated and expanded Chartered SRI CounselorSM (CSRIC®) curriculum

    WASHINGTON, DC, June 26, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- US SIF: Sustainable Investment Forum today announced the release of updated and expanded curriculum for the Chartered SRI CounselorSM (CSRIC®) designation, which is now available from the College for Financial Planning (CFFP), a Kaplan company.

The CSRIC® program provides financial advisors and investment professionals with foundational knowledge about the history, definitions, trends, portfolio construction principles, fiduciary responsibilities, and best practices for sustainable investments. This designation program provides foundational knowledge for advisors looking to incorprorate sustainable investing into their practice.

The updated curriculum includes additional educational content and opportunities for advisors focused on a variety of sustainable investing topics. The course can be taken via live online classes or through on-demand classes.

US SIF and education partner CFFP have updated this course to reflect the growing and changing field of sustainable investment. As of year-end 2021, the US SIF Foundation identified $8.4 trillion in total US-domiciled assets under management (AUM) using sustainable investing strategies. This represents 13 percent—or 1 in 8 dollars—of the total US assets under professional management.

"The CSRIC curriculum is designed to prepare advisors to meet the consumer demand for sustainable investing," said Michael Young, US SIF's Director of Education and Outreach. "Through this designation, advisors will learn about trends in the industry, the latest research and tools that they can use with clients."

US SIF offers an enrollment portal for any interested financial professionals, and US SIF members receive a 15% discount.

US SIF also offers additional educational tools for advisors interested in learning more about how they can incorporate sustainable investing into their practice.
