Facelift Procedures are Numerous

The facelift is one of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures performed today. What you probably don't know is that the technology and methods used to perform facelifts are better and less invasive than ever before.

/24-7PressRelease/ - May 18, 2008 - The facelift is one of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures performed today. And as our population continues to age, the numbers will only continue to increase. What you probably don't know is that the technology and methods used to perform facelifts are better and less invasive than ever before.

The classic or usual type of facelift performed for many years is also known as a rhytidectomy. This is the procedure most people are familiar with. It uses a long incision that goes from behind one ear up around the head behind the hairline ending behind the other ear. It is used to rejuvenate an aging face by removing the signs of aging on the face and neck.

There are several high-tech procedures which can now offer similar results to a facelift with less invasiveness, shorter procedure times, and less recovery time.

Forehead Lift or Brow Lift - This is similar to a facelift but more targeted. It offers the benefits of smoothing of the forehead and opening up of the eyes without an extensive facelift surgery. One surgeon who is performing this targeted technique is Dr. Jasin in the Tampa, Florida area. Please visit the Jasin Facial Rejuvenation Institute website for more information on the forehead lift shortened facelift surgery.

Nonsurgical Facelift - Some cosmetic surgeons are even doing away with invasive surgery altogether and achieving facelift results with nonsurgical techniques using things like BOTOX or injectable fillers, such as Collagen, Restylane and Radiesse.

Simplicity Lift - New methods of achieving the same facelift results with less invasive procedures are now part of some cosmetic surgeon's repertoire. In fact, Dr. Jasin has perfected a new signature technique called a simplicity lift. This procedure is not as invasive as a traditional facelift and produces similar results with fewer risks and less recuperation time.

Facelift Candidates

People who make good candidates for facelifts typically have several common traits. These qualities include:
• Elastic (flexible or supple) skin
• Loose facial or neck skin
• Well-constructed bones
• Realistic expectations of the surgery

Listening to and following your cosmetic surgeon's instructions and recommendations is always in important quality since this can greatly affect the outcome of your facelift.

Age generally isn't as important of a factor for what makes a good facelift candidate as are the above traits. However, most facelift patients usually fall between the ages of 40 and 70.

Problems Facelifts Address
• Drooping cheeks
• Excess chin fat
• Flabby neck skin
• Jowls
• Large skin folds hanging under the neck
• Undefined or rough jaw lines

If you are dissatisfied with you facial appearance because it is aging faster than you are, consider a facelift procedure. Whether you choose the traditional facelift or one of the newer facelift procedures, you will be able to smile all the time without thinking about the lines smiling is adding to your face. And your face will be revitalized and always looks better with a smile on it.

If you believe you are a good candidate for a facelift procedure, and are in the Tampa, St. Peterburg, Lakeland, or Sarasota, Florida area, please contact the Jasin Facial Rejuvenation Institute. Dr. Jasin will be happy to answer any questions you have.
