One of the co-founders had a frustrating experience while trying to purchase a car for her grandfather. She already had a specific car and price in mind before approaching the various dealerships. She and her family tiredly went from one dealership to the next trying to get the best price. A lot of time, gas, and money were spent while trying to secure a suitable car and price. After many hours of haggling, she was able to get a price close to what she had in mind.
Later that evening, she came up with a bright idea and approached her boyfriend with it. "Hey, how about having a web site that allows the consumers to enter the car desired along with the price they are willing to pay and have the dealerships compete for their business? This way it will save both time and money for the consumers of having to wander in and out of dealerships, not to mention the stress associated with haggling." He enthusiastically agreed that it was a fantastic idea. Armed with that confidence, she then approached a very good friend (now a co-founder) with the idea and the rest is history.
Price and Drive has created proprietary software to mutually benefit both the consumers and the dealerships alike. Our objective is to bring the Internet, the customer, and the dealerships together to simplify the automobile buying process. We envision that this will revolutionize the car buying experience for the consumers as well as helping leverage the dealerships' time and resources.
PriceandDrive.com has simplified the buying process into three simple steps. The consumers can tell us exactly what car they are looking for and how much they are willing to spend. Their requests(s) are then sent to the dealerships that are enrolled within our PAD system. The dealerships will then utilize the PAD Agent portal to view/manage bids and then compete with other dealerships for the business. This bidding process will in turn get the consumers the best possible price. While the bidding goes back and forth among the dealerships, the consumers will remain totally anonymous as they review offers in real-time. No one will call or email the consumers until they are ready to be contacted.
In summary, the consumers will save a lot of time and money by inputting their requests through PriceandDrive.com. The dealerships will be able to reach out and sell to consumers that may normally not step onto their car lot or walk through their front door. It's a win-win for both.
