Cambridge Who's Who Names Carlos M. Torres, MD Professional of the Year in Gastrointestinal Pathology

With an impressive background in the healthcare industry, Dr. Torres has over 18 years of experience and specializes in disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and liver. He previously worked as assistant professor and staff pathologist at The Monterrey Institute of Technology and Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center. Dr. Torres prides himself in reviewing and diagnosing over 250,000 gastrointestinal and liver biopsies and performing over 50,000 intra and extra departmental consultations. He stays current with the trends in his profession by reading multiple peer reviewed journals, including The American Journal of Surgical Pathology.

Dr. Torres completed his residency in Anatomic Pathology at the Washington University School of Medicine/Barnes Jewish Hospital from 1991-1994, followed by a Surgical Pathology fellowship at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center from 1994-1995. Subsequently, he completed his fellowship in gastrointestinal and liver pathology at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital from 1995-1996. He is a fellow of the Gastrointestinal Pathology Society, the Texas Society for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.
