Socorro McCrum-Sanchez Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who Executive, Professional and Entrepreneurial Registry

    /24-7PressRelease/ - Las Cruces, NM, September 21, 2008, Socorro McCrum-Sanchez, Coordinator for Technology Instruction for the Gadsden Independent School District, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of elementary and secondary education.

Socorro McCrum-Sanchez has been employed in the field of education for over 30 years. For the past 22 years she has held various positions such as Bilingual Specialist, Third Grade Bilingual Teacher, Curriculum Alignment Project Facilitator and District Instructional Specialist for the Gadsden Independent School District. Presently, she is Coordinator for Technology Instruction in the District. As such, she is responsible for training teachers in the integration of technology into daily lessons and training support personnel and administrators in the use of technology software programs. She is also responsible for administering the District's professional development website and overseeing the District's testing center, where teachers and students take on-line tests toward industry and business certifications. Mrs. McCrum-Sanchez is also designated as the administrator for numerous educational websites which are used on a daily basis by teachers and students.

Mrs. McCrum-Sanchez obtained a Bachelor of Science in Education with focus areas in English and Spanish from UMHB-Belton in Texas in 1987 and completed coursework for her Bilingual/TESOL Endorsements at UTEP-El Paso in Texas in 1989. She obtained her Master of Arts in Education with a focus on Curriculum/Instruction: Learning Technologies with an Information Technology Coordinator Endorsement from New Mexico State University-Las Cruces, New Mexico in 2003, a Master of Science in Education with a focus on Elementary Reading/Literacy from Walden University-Minneapolis in Minnesota in 2005, and an Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3) from Computer Prep-A division of Prosofttraining . She is a recipient of the Certificate of Recognition from The House of Representatives of the State of New Mexico and several National Awards from the Commander-¬in-Chief of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.
