Ms. Leva is a Brazilian lawyer that graduated from one of the best law schools in the country. She previously practiced law in São Paulo for more than ten years working with the Latin American division of foreign companies doing business in Brazil. She has solid experience in handling the legal needs of major corporate clients in connection with both legal and government affairs matters, as well as in managing and supervising the work of associate lawyers and a law firm's affiliate offices throughout Brazil. In August 2005 she was honored with a scholarship from the University of Miami School of Law to pursue an LLM degree in comparative law and moved to Miami. She is currently working for a multinational telecommunication equipment and services company as Regional Counsel for the Caribbean and Latin America division. Her responsibilities include drafting and negotiation of complex telecommunications sales agreements, related civil works and supply agreements as well as other types of agreements, ensuring legal compliance of the company's subsidiaries in Latin America, and advising on a broad range of day-to-day matters, such as corporate, supply management, employment and litigation issues. She also advises senior management on miscellaneous matters in connection with the Company's distribution channels, including drafting and negotiation of distribution agreements.
