Kathryn Starke Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who Executive, Professional and Entrepreneurial Registry

    RICHMOND, VA, October 11, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kathryn Starke, President of Creative Minds Publications, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of education.

An elementary school reading specialist, Ms. Starke specializes in teaching primary literacy for students from the kindergarten through second grade. As president of Creative Minds Publications, she is responsible for maintaining email correspondence, attending and making presentations at speaking engagements to promote literacy, and conducting literacy workshops for teachers and struggling readers and students. Also an author, she writes books to increase literacy among children and improve teachers' skills in lesson planning, and regularly attends book fairs to promote her children's book entitled, "Amy's Travels." Ms. Starke devoted her career to education because she had always wanted to become a teacher. Nominated for the R.E.B. Award and the Teacher of the Year Award in 2005, she credits her success to the support she receives from her parents.

Ms. Starke is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Literacy and Culture, with a concentration in Reading, at Longwood University. She is affiliated with the Richmond Area Reading Council, the Virginia Education Association and the International Reading Association, and volunteers with Stop Child Abuse Now. Her plans for the future include moving to California or New York, promoting literacy at the national level, and continuing her education.
