Laverne R. Thompson, RN, Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who Executive, Professional and Entrepreneurial Registry

    LEAVENWORTH, KS, October 11, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Laverne R. Thompson, Staff Registered Nurse and Charge Nurse Phase II Recovery at Eastern Kansas Health Care System, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of nursing.

With 22 years of experience in the nursing profession, Ms. Thompson has distinguished herself in the areas of obstetrics, gynecology and pediatric care. As staff registered nurse and charge nurse phase II recovery, she is responsible for managing the catheterization laboratory, caring for gastrointestinal, surgical and cataract patients in the recovery unit, and overseeing patient flow. She is proud to have been selected to work in Eastern Kansas Health Care System's new gastrointestinal unit. Ms. Thompson decided to become a nurse after working for an agency on aging instilled in her a desire to serve other people. She attributes her success to her perseverance and drive.

Ms. Thompson received her Associate of Science in Nursing from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1998 and is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Liberty University. She is affiliated with the American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses and volunteers with Goodwill in her spare time. Her future goals include managing the new gastrointestinal unit.
