Mrs. Stroup specializes in mental health counseling with a focus on grief and bereavement. At her current post, she is responsible for conducting bereavement groups, crisis counseling to individuals and groups and individual counseling for grief and loss. She enjoys community education on mental health/illness and bereavement issues. Her most recent award was Kiwanian of the Year in 2007. She attributes her success to all of the struggles and challenges with which she has been blessed.

A certified addiction specialist and a licensed mental health counselor, Mrs. Stroup received her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in 2000. She sits on the board of directors of Tri-County Human Services, Inc. and the Florida Partners in Crisis. She is a member of The InterAgency and is a board member of the local chapter of the Central Florida Blood Centers. Mrs. Stroup is a greeter of The Lunch Club and has written newspaper articles in the Sebring News-Sun and the Highlands Today-Tampa Tribune. Her future goals include retiring from home hospice work and continuing to provide counseling in mental health and substance abuse.
