LOS ANGELES / SANTA MONICA, CA, November 13, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Los Angeles Orthodontist Dr. Atoosa Nikaeen and one of her Invisalign patients recently were quoted in a Newsweek article about teens and alternatives to traditional "train track" braces.
Nikaeen and her patient, Jenny Cook, appeared in the Oct. 25 issue of the magazine. Cook is a teenager being treated with the Invisalign Teen product, which includes features that make it easier and more efficient for doctors to treat younger patients with Invisalign.
The Newsweek article discussed the notion that more adolescents are asking for more aesthetically pleasing alternatives to traditional braces. Some of those alternatives include Invisalign Teen and iBraces.
Nikaeen has patients driving from long distances just to get iBraces, she said in the article.
iBraces are lingual braces- those affixed behind the teeth instead of the front- custom-designed for each individual patient to snugly fit the lingual surfaces of the teeth in a manner that promotes comfort, performance and fit, according to Lingualcare, a 3M Unitek company that manufactures the braces (http://www.lingualcare.com/patient/about.php) .
Being contacted by Newsweek to comment for the article was exciting, Nikaeen said.
