MANCHESTER, ENGLAND, January 23, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- There is only a month or so to go until the Spanish capital becomes the centre of couture culture, as the biannual Madrid International Fashion Week kicks off.
Between Thursday February 12th and Saturday February 14th, the Feria de Madrid will play host to the event, which will showcase a wide variety of clothing, including autumn and winter collections for 2009-10.
Models are set to take to the catwalk to display the offerings of both up-and-coming and established designers.
For this edition of the exhibition, France has been selected as the guest nation of the Spanish show, based on the country's significance and influence within the world of international fashion.
Didier Parakian, president of the French Women's Pret a Porter Federation, said: "After many years of trade between the two countries, Spain represents an important and reliable companion for French fashion."
He explained a number of influential brands will be showing their wares at the event, including AB.Paris, Lauren Vidal and Madame Zaza of Marseille.
Tickets are priced at 30 euros, but cost just 15 euros if people pre-register.
Given the popularity of the event in recent years, those keen to attend could well be advised to book tickets - as well as Madrid Hotels - as soon as possible.
A few great deals to be had whilst attending the Fashion Week are the Petit Palace Londres which have standard double rooms including breakfast available from 106GBP. Another hotel is the Hotel Vincci Capitol, a 4 star hotel which is located in the famous Gran Vía of Madrid.
