MEREWETHER, AUSTRALIA, January 30, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Change Champions is establishing virtual health seminars. People will also be able to attend any of Change Champions' 2009 seminars and conferences without leaving their office via a webinar . A fully searchable international Health Consultant's and Speaker's Directory has also been established on the Change Champion's website.
Managing director Char Weeks said the Internet had a big future in the seminar business and in linking people in a cost effective and efficient way.
"Using web based tools is an innovative way to showcase and share information on innovation in healthcare," Ms Weeks said.
Ms Weeks said with the global financial crisis affecting budgets, money is not always available for people to attend conferences. It can be expensive to attend conferences in terms of travel, accommodation and down-time.
"With a webinar you only need to attend the sessions that are relevant. The registration fee is site based so you can have as many participants as you like at your site," she said.
Ms Weeks is taking the use of webinar technology to a unique level with the introduction of virtual healthcare conferences. A global webinar will be held on October 13 linking delegates from around the world to create a seminar with no venue.
The webinar, which Ms Weeks calls a "Health Innovations Marathon", will discuss the important topic of addressing climate change issues in healthcare. A second webinar will be held on November 10 on improving the patient experience. The Webinars will commence in New Zealand and follow the sun around the globe, finishing with presentations from the west coast of North America. Abstracts are currently being called for from around the world.
She hopes the technology will help healthcare practitioners to more easily share their expertise and gain access to leading innovations from around the world. The ultimate aim is to improve healthcare systems globally.
"Webinars will make it easier for the rest of the world to learn more about the great talents in North America working on innovations projects in healthcare."
She said that accessing conferences via webinar was simple. All people will need is rapid access to the Internet and a phone line. If the participant has a webcam they will be able to join in to ask questions.
Upcoming seminars cover topics including: maternity care; caring for older people; advance care planning; and outpatient care. For a full list visit www.changechampions.com.au
