Around 50 films are due to be screened as part of the showcase and all are in the running to pick up one of four prizes, the winners of which are decided by the festival's jury.
Movies due to be screened at this year's show include Apres la pluie, Careful With That Axe, Fond de Cour - Escalier B, L'interpretation des Reves ou les Aventures du Robot Bleu and La Main des Maitres.
Filmmakers from an array of countries, including New Zealand, France, Canada, Iran, Spain, the UK, Denmark, Israel, Mexico, Hungary and Romania will be showing off their work at the events.
Cities participating in the screenings of the films include Paris, Lyons, Reims, Verdelot, Caen, Montpellier and Cherbourg.
In the French capital, the screenings will take place at Forum des Halles, which is within easy reach of the wide array of hotels in Paris. Tickets are currently available and are priced from 5 EUR.
