ROSANNA, AUSTRALIA, April 18, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A new software comparison website has been judged one of Australia's 100 most innovative products, as announced recently at Anthill Magazine's inaugural Smart 100 Awards.
SoftwareShortlist.com compares and recommends software for small businesses. It is a free service that uses an online assessment process to deliver a unique shortlist of relevant products to each visitor.
The Smart 100 was unveiled at a ceremony on Thursday 9 April, 2009, held at LifeLab, Digital Harbour in the Melbourne Docklands. Created by business magazine Australian Anthill and research agency Colmar Brunton, the Smart100 used a panel of 1,600 'mavens' to judge the 861 entries.
In being named among the SMART 100, SoftwareShortlist joins a select group of prominent Australian innovators including Fermiscan, Bionomics, RedBubble, 99Designs and Aconex.
The award is the latest in a series of wins for the new software comparison website, which launched in February after receiving a merit-based Australian government COMET grant in January. It was also a finalist last year in the Vic Pitch '08 competition.
"SoftwareShortlist exists to connect small businesses with the right software, so the real measure of our success is how well we achieve that purpose," said co-founder Xavier Russo. "Of course, it is encouraging to be named as one of Australia's 100 most innovative products so soon after launch."
The range of software in the website's comparison service is continually being expanded. Accounting, email marketing, and IT help desk software will soon be added to the timesheet software for professional service firms and livestock software for farmers that is already available on SoftwareShortlist.com.
